A Sanctuary of Tactile Warmth and Conceptual Clarity: The Treehouse Interiors at Bengaluru
Nestled in the lush canopy of Bengaluru, this treehouse’s interior represents a sophisticated departure from conventional rustic design. Instead, it offers a sanctuary of tactile warmth, conceptual clarity, and architectural innovation, masterfully blending natural materials with a minimal, modern sensibility. The space is a direct evolution from the earlier bedroom concepts, retaining the dramatic scale and multi-functional zones while introducing a more ground-breaking approach to the architecture of complete interiors.
A Synthesis of Natural and Industrial Materials
The blend of materials is where this interior achieves its most resonant and surprising synthesis. The core natural component is the rich, highly polished dark hardwood plank flooring, whose deep grain and high-gloss finish create a seamless, liquid reflection across the entire space. This warmth is masterfully contrasted by the cool, raw textures of the board-formed concrete and the precision-machined brushed metal track and pendant lighting.
Crucially, the earlier wood elements—the louvered window blinds, the side shelves, and the large console tables—are preserved, providing a warm, structured counterpoint to the velvet and concrete. The intricate circularPatterned screen next to the main window, retained from earlier versions, acts as a decorative lattice, filtering natural light and providing vertical rhythm.
The Unification of Light and View
Lighting is curated to create a series of unified atmospheres. Natural daylight, the most critical material, is filtered and directed through the preserved wooden louvered blinds, creating dappled patterns across the floor and velvet. The two central, clear glass globe pendants remain, now accompanied by the precise track spotlights, and a new, glowing white column lamp.
Artwork is integrated thoughtfully: the four geometric pop-art panels remain as colorful accents, and the dramatic black and red canvas piece near the lounge provides a sophisticated visual weight, showing how the space integrates diverse cultural and artistic expressions.
A Progressive Retreat
In summary, this treehouse interior is a progressive, artful unification of signature elements. It demonstrates how concrete and velvet, raw texture and precision, and natural wood and mirror can coexist to create a truly luxurious and conceptual retreat.
Designer note :
“It honors the spatial intelligence of life in design while introduces new material boldness, offering a unique and powerful expression of modern Bengaluru living within the trees.”
